Introduction of Pokhara to Sarangkot Jeep
Pokhara to Sarangkot jeep viewpoint at sunrise, across the Annapurna range. Sarangkot is a scenic hill station on the outskirts of Pokhara (altitude 1,592 m). A private 4×4 Jeep covers the 11–12 km stretch of road from Lakeside Pokhara (820 m) to Sarangkot, climbing some 780 m. The drive is approximately 30–60 minutes (approximately 1 hour).
Sarangkot is renowned globally for its Himalayan panoramic vistas and sunrises, including Annapurna, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), and Dhaulagiri. It is also a paragliding takeoff area, drawing many early birds who desire the sunrise glow on the mountains.

Road Facts of Pokhara to Sarangkot jeep
Surface: The road is sealed for most of the way. Higher up, it becomes steeper and narrower with some hairpin bends.
Safety: The trip is generally safe with an experienced driver at the helm. Jeep vehicles are not in the least bit uncomfortable negotiating the mountainous road.
Seasonal: Autumn and spring are dry and clear. Monsoon rains (Jun–Aug) leave the road slippery and the sights hazy. Winter mornings are cool but generally clear – dress warm at sunrise.
Why Book This Package

- Safety: Experienced local drivers know the mountain roads and ensure a smooth ride.
- Group-friendly: Private Jeeps carry up to 6 people, so families or friends travel together comfortably.
- Scenic route: Enjoy unobstructed views of Phewa Lake, Pokhara Valley, and the Himalayas during the climb.
- Flexible timing: You choose the departure time (early starts are fine), so it’s easy to catch the sunrise or fit in with other activities.
Vehicle Options – Sarangkot Sunrise Tour
1. Private Car (Sedan) USD 20
A private sedan car is a practical and budget-friendly option for small groups or couples traveling from Pokhara to Sarangkot. It comfortably accommodates 2–3 passengers, making it ideal for travelers seeking privacy at a lower cost.
This option is best suited for budget-conscious clients who prefer a private ride instead of shared transport. However, because the road to Sarangkot features steep uphill sections, sedans may have slightly less power and stability than jeeps, especially in wet or slippery conditions.
2. Hiace / Van (UDS 45)
The Hiace van, or a similar tourist van, is designed for group travel, accommodating 7–14 passengers comfortably. It is widely used for organized tours, family trips, and corporate groups.
This option is best for those traveling together who want to stay in one vehicle rather than splitting into multiple cars. While slightly larger and less agile on steep roads than jeeps, it still provides a comfortable, cost-effective solution for group transportation.
3. Bus / Coaster (Large Group) USD 100
For larger groups, a tourist bus or coaster is the most efficient option, with a seating capacity of 15 to 30+ passengers.
This vehicle is ideal for big tour groups, student groups, or corporate outings. It allows all participants to travel together, making logistics easier and more economical per person. However, due to its size, it may not reach the exact viewpoint in some cases, requiring a short walk uphill depending on road access and parking conditions.
4. Shared Sunrise Tour (Budget Option) USD 10
The shared sunrise tour is the most economical choice, typically operated using shared jeeps or vans. Travelers can join other guests, making it a cost-effective option for solo travelers or clients on a tight budget.
This option is ideal for those who do not require privacy and are comfortable with fixed departure times and group travel. While less flexible than private vehicles, it offers a convenient and affordable way to experience the sunrise over the Annapurna range from Sarangkot.
